The AIRTOWER filter tower is specifically designed for industries where hall extraction is often the only option: metalworking and mechanical engineering. It has been proven to efficiently remove oil mist, coolants, and fumes from the air.

This hall ventilation unit operates without ductwork, using the layered ventilation principle. Thanks to forklift slots and crane eyes, the filter tower can be quickly and easily positioned anywhere: set it up, connect power and compressed air, and you're ready to go.

This allows the performance of the fans, which are essential for air circulation, to be automatically adjusted. Nano filter cartridges with corrugated polyester media and a nanofiber layer are used. An initial precoating is no longer required.

What is the layered ventilation principle?

Thermal currents cause air contaminated with welding fumes to rise. The AIRTOWER captures this air, filters it, and releases it back as clean air near the floor, free of drafts. This creates a protected zone for people and machinery, known as the "fresh air zone."

How high is the fresh air zone?

The fresh air zone is slightly taller than an AIRTOWER, about four meters high.

Are all extraction systems in the series adjustable?

AIRTOWER units can be adjusted manually. When equipped with the efficiency package and a particle sensor, the performance can be automatically regulated and adjusted in real-time based on the measured particle levels.

What are the requirements for using the filter tower?

The AIRTOWER is designed as a plug-and-play device, allowing for easy installation. However, it requires a power connection (CEE plug) to operate. Additionally, systems with filter cleaning require a permanent connection to a compressed air supply. For units that offer heating and cooling, they must be connected to the supply and return of the source system. A standard pressure of 6-8 bar should be maintained, and the compressed air should be oil- and water-free. All Novus systems come with a built-in pressure regulator pre-filter to meet these requirements. If you have any questions or concerns, we’re happy to assist!

Are there any insights on how much heating costs can be saved with the filter tower?

Yes! Thanks to the AIRTOWER's design, rising warm air is captured at several meters high and released back near the floor. This greatly improves heat distribution in your hall, preventing heat buildup near the ceiling. Particularly in processes like welding, where significant heat is generated, the warm air rises and is recirculated evenly throughout the space. This helps you reach your desired room temperature faster. Based on customer feedback, heating cost reductions of 50% to 100% are achievable with the filter tower. Of course, the savings depend on factors such as the size of your hall, the number of welders, and the intensity of the welding processes. Overall, the AIRTOWER is an effective way to reduce heating costs and improve the climate in your hall.

Can the AIRTOWER be used when there is a risk of spark ingestion?

Yes! The AIRTOWER can be used even when there’s a higher risk of spark ingestion. The safety options package provides multi-stage protection, including pre-separation and sensors that shield the tower from fire. The particle impact separator captures 99% of sparks, and any remaining sparks pass through S-curves before being extinguished and collected in flame-retardant filter cartridges. These cartridges are non-flammable and do not melt, preventing the detection of melting points. While there is still a minimal risk that sparks may reach the filter cartridges or drawer, the system includes a temperature sensor in the drawer that automatically shuts down in the event of overheating, along with a sensitive smoke detector that triggers both visual and audible alarms if fire is detected. Altogether, the AIRTOWER safety package offers comprehensive protection, allowing safe use even in high-risk spark environments.

How many filter towers do I need for my facility, and how should the AIRTOWER be positioned?
